How to Add a New Windows 10 Account

Most of you are probably wondering right now about the headline. Well, it may come as a shock to you, but there are many out there who really don’t know how to create a new user account if Windows 10’s goes down.

More than that, using the method I’m about to show cuts the malware infiltration risk in half. Because talk’s cheap, let’s dig right into it.

How to add a New UA using Command Prompt

Step 1. Hit the start menu.

Step 2. Open the command prompt.

Step 3. Run the command prompt with admin privileges.

Step 4. Hit yes to continue.

Step 5. Type in the following to add a username and to assign a password:

C:\Windows\system32\net user Kate hellowworld /add

Step 6. Press Enter. If everything’s done right, you should receive a message saying that the new user has been successfully created.

NB: if you want the new user to log in without a password, just delete the password field (the one next to the name, before the /, add command)

Now, if you want to give admin privileges to your newly created user, follow these steps:

Step 1. Search for command prompt in the start menu.

Step 2. Run command prompt with admin privileges.

Step 3. Type in the following line:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\net localgroup administrators Kate /add

Note: you can directly create an admin account. You’ll first need to create a local user and then update it to admin.
